Using Collections

Organize related captures into Collections for projects, trips, and topics.

Using Collections

Collections are lightweight notebooks for grouping related captures. Use them for projects, trips, research topics, or any context you want to keep together.

Creating a collection

  1. Click the + button next to "Collections" in the sidebar
  2. Give your collection a name
  3. Pick a color (optional — helps visual identification)
  4. Add a description (optional — useful for shared collections)

Adding items to a collection

From the timeline

  • Hover over any capture
  • Click the Add to collection icon
  • Select an existing collection or create a new one

From the capture view

  • Open any capture
  • Click Collections in the metadata panel
  • Add or remove collections

Bulk add (coming soon)

Select multiple items in the timeline and add them to a collection at once. This feature is in development.

Collection types

Private collections

Default setting. Only you can see and edit the collection and its contents.

Shared collections

Generate a read-only link to share a collection with others. Recipients see:

  • All captures in the collection
  • Collection name and description
  • Capture timestamps

They cannot:

  • Add or remove items
  • Edit captures
  • See your other collections

Exporting collections

Download any collection as a Markdown file:

  1. Open the collection
  2. Click Export in the header
  3. Choose Markdown format
  4. The file downloads to your device

Use exports for:

  • Backing up important project notes
  • Moving content to other tools
  • Creating shareable documents
